How to Connect the L1 Security Camera to Wi-Fi: AP Mode and QR Mode Guide

L1 Outdoor Security Camera Manual

Setting up your L1 security camera to connect with your Wi-Fi network is a straightforward process. Whether you are using the AP mode or QR mode, this guide will walk you through the steps to ensure a smooth and successful connection. Follow the instructions below to get your camera up and running.

AP Mode: Connecting the L1 Security Camera to Wi-Fi

  1. Power on the Camera
Begin by powering on the L1 security camera. Wait for 5 to 10 seconds until you see the indicator light flashing red slowly. This indicates the camera is ready for setup.

  2. Reset the Camera (if necessary)
If the indicator light is not flashing red, press and hold the reset button for 8 to 10 seconds. You should hear three short beeps signaling the camera has been reset. Once the indicator flashes red, you're ready to proceed.

  3. Enter Your Wi-Fi Password
In the SmartLife app, enter the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi password for your network. Ensure that the camera is within range of your Wi-Fi signal to avoid connectivity issues.

  4. Connect to the SmartLife Network
Select the Wi-Fi network named "SmartLife-XXXX" in the app. Wait for the app to establish a connection with your L1 camera. This might take a few moments. Once connected, click "Done" in the app.

  5. Troubleshooting Connection Issues
If you are unable to connect the device, it could be due to several factors, such as incorrect Wi-Fi credentials or poor signal strength. In such cases, don't hesitate to contact our customer service team for assistance.

QR Mode: Connecting the L1 Security Camera to Wi-Fi

  1. Power on the Camera
Similar to AP mode, power on the L1 security camera and wait for the indicator light to flash red slowly. If it's not flashing, reset the camera by holding the reset button for 8 to 10 seconds, then listen for three short beeps.

  2. Generate a QR Code
After entering the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi password in the SmartLife app, a QR code containing the Wi-Fi information will be generated. This QR code is crucial for the camera to receive the necessary details for pairing.

  3. Scan the QR Code
Hold your phone about 4 to 6 inches away from the camera lens. The L1 camera will scan the QR code displayed on your phone. Once the camera reads the code, you'll hear a voice prompt indicating that the camera has successfully scanned the code.

  4. Troubleshooting QR Code Scanning
If the camera is not scanning the QR code, try adjusting the phone's position or slightly tilting the screen to reduce any light reflection. Ensure the QR code is clear and that your phone screen is free from obstructions or glare. Also, avoid a high contrast background that might interfere with the camera's ability to read the QR code.

  5. Finish the Setup
When the camera beeps, the pairing process will begin automatically. If any issues persist during this process, you can always reach out to our customer service team for further support.
